A woman, 45, underwent back surgery which resulted in paralysis from the waist down. The neurosurgeon lacked experience in the performed procedure, XLIF (Extreme Latcral Interbody Fusion). Plaintiff’s experts stated that the disc space during surgery was inadequately decompressed, resulting in a complete spinal injury.
