Result: $1.3 Million Settlement for Stillbirth

A young pregnant mother presented to her doctor at 37 weeks gestation with complaints of contractions. Fetal movement was noted to be absent and persistent fetal bradycardia was observed and documented. The patient was permitted to labor for approximately 8 additional hours. A Cesarean section was performed, delivering a lifeless female infant. After resuscitative measures, the baby was declared a fetal demise.
